After much deliberation and a strenuous list-making procedure, I have whittled down the candidates to 10 movies everyone not only needs to see, but needs to like in order to be my friend.
It's a mixture of award-nominated films, feel good movies, nostalgia, comedies, dramas, and movies starring Warwick Davis.
In particular order:
1. Ghost World
2. Bedknobs & Broomsticks
3. Willow
4. Spellbound (2004)
5. Clockwatchers
6. Sister Act II
7. Traffic
8. I Heart Huckabees
9. Wet Hot American Summer
10. Kung Pow! Enter the Fist
I hope that this list sparkles with everyone.

omgsmjfpjjlhusacnn! i was thinking this past weekend what would be on my list... and now that you've posted yours i see how similar they actually are!
i think this would be my list:
01. Ghost World
02. Bedknobs & Broomsticks
03. The Royal Tennenbaums
04. Clockwatchers
05. Gattaca
06. I Heart Huckabees
07. Fargo
08. Curse of the Jade Scorpion (post 90s Woody Allen in general)
09. The Parent Trap (with Hayley Mills & Hayley Mills -- Disney movies from the 60s in general)
10. Kung Pow! Enter the Fist
honorable mentions -- aka movies that i will ALWAYS watch if i ever stumble upon them while channel surfing:
all of the Harry Potter movies
both Brady Bunch movies
either Sister Act movie
i was debating whether or not to include Traffic, and completely forgot about I♥H, but now that you reminded me of it, it has to be included!
OMG! our lists ARE similar! my backups were The Parent Trap (with Hayley Mills and Hayley Mills), either of the Brady Bunch movies, Adaptation, Muppets Take Manhattan, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Bride of Boogedy! craziness!
Oh! I just remembered Psycho Beach Party! That would have to go at either position 06 or 07... i'm leaning closer to 06, though. and Bride of Boogedy is another great one... that would make my honorable metion list as would Dogville and Dancer In The Dark.
I have an issue with Traffic. I thought that movie was terrible. And it's not comedy, so it's not based on our difference in comedic stance. I'll have to think of mine for a minute.
damn it! I forgot about Psycho Beach Party as well. ugh. 10 movies is not enough. I still don't know if i would replace it with any of the ones on my list, but it's definitely worth a mention.
and you didn't like Traffic? it was so good. maybe you should watch it again.
Traffic was just on TNT or TBS or one of those channels that show movie all day on the weekends. I only caught a little bit, but it was enjoyable, as i remembered it to be. BTW, Whatever happened to that Erika Christiansen girl with her puffy Julia Styles-styled face?
Also I love how the Mexican landscapes in that movie seemed to eat like acid through the film that was trying to capture it resulting in grainy and yellow-washed viewing. Justice!
I also take issue with Traffic. I don't remember what it was about, but I mostly have a problem because I can't stand watching Benicio del Toro. ...mostly. It has nothing to do with his ability as an actor and everything to do with his greasy appearance. I don't know anything about the old version of The Parent Trap, but the Lindsay Lohan/Lindsay Lohan version, while not on my list, will always have a special place in my heart because it brings me back to a more innocent time.
